ree

Established in 1998 at Al Samriya Estate in Al Shahaniya (just a 30-minute drive from West Bay), the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is the brainchild of His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani — a result of his lifelong passion for collecting historically significant artifacts from around the globe.

With a global perspective, the museum brings together more than 40,000 unique Qatari and international pieces from various eras and cultures, representing a modern-day interpretation of a “cabinet of curiosities.”

The journey extends through over 30 exhibition halls, each dedicated to different themes, highlighting the similarities between artistic models, cultural expressions, and their interconnectedness among societies. The collection spans Qatari heritage, weaponry, carpets, vehicles — including more than 300 stunning and rare classic cars — fossils, jewelry, coins, and archaeological pieces. Together, they showcase the region’s diverse visual cultures and traditions, including the rich artistic heritage of the Islamic world across distant lands such as Eastern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Asia.

Visit today to explore the FBQ Museum’s treasures firsthand. Discover the captivating stories behind each artifact and experience the richness of our shared cultural heritage.
