- Doha Design District Launches ‘Mada and Sada’: A new platform tracing the full arc of creative making
Doha Design District, the creative hub at the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha, powered by Msheireb Properties, has launched ‘Mada and Sada’: an immersive creative platform and spatial experience that invites visitors not just to witness art, but to understand how it comes to life. The name carries the concept within it — ‘Mada’ (the origin, the impulse) and ‘Sada’ (the echo, the expression) — together tracing the full journey from a first idea to its public life. Visitors can move through both spaces as one continuous experience, or explore each on its own terms. Either way, the invitation is the same: step inside the process, not just the product. The launch was attended by designers, artists, and members of Doha’s wider creative community, and opened with ‘Msheireb Symphony’ by internationally acclaimed Qatari composer and singer-songwriter Dana Alfardan. Officially commissioned by Msheireb Downtown Doha, the symphony was composed to reflect the legacy, history, and forward-looking vision of the city’s smart and sustainable urban landscape. The piece weaves contemporary classical music with traditional elements — capturing the architectural spirit of Msheireb and bridging Doha’s cultural heritage with its modern, sustainable future — a fitting overture for an evening about the connection between roots and possibility. The event was introduced by Dana Kazic, Director of Doha Design District, and Samar Maakaroun, Partner and Creative Director of the internationally renowned design studio Pentagram, who conceived the visual identity of Mada and Sada. The design of the platforms is drawn directly from the architectural language of Msheireb Downtown Doha — creating an identity that feels intrinsically connected to its environment rather than imposed upon it. Deeply rooted in Arab culture and heritage, this shared foundation is evident throughout the work. Inside ‘Mada’, visitors were taken behind the curtain by two creators — Yasamin Sheikhi and Nada Al Kharashi — who shared not only their finished work but the thinking, the doubt, and the discovery that preceded it. These were not polished presentations; they were honest accounts of creative life. In ‘Sada’, 20 shortlisted proposals from the District’s Public Art Open Call were on display: an unfiltered look at the projects competing to reshape the city’s public spaces, each one a conversation still in progress. Technology & Infotainment The 900 is comprehensively equipped with the latest technology. It features 5G connectivity, over-the-air updates, and a "transparent chassis" mode that stitches together camera feeds to provide a full 540° live view of the vehicle's surroundings. The premium audio experience is delivered by a Harman Kardon Dolby Atmos system and an optional 31-speaker configuration. Wireless charging pads (50 W) with cooling fans prevent device overheating. For driver assistance, the Lynk & Co 900 is equipped with Level 2 autonomy as standard, including LiDAR-based adaptive cruise control with lane centering, highway assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and a comprehensive suite of cameras and radars. Safety Safety is at the core of the Lynk & Co 900’s engineering. It features the NVIDIA Drive Orin-X processor (700 TOPS), integrated with a LiDAR system (126-beam), radar sensors, and multi-camera arrays to power its ADAS system. Built on the co-developed SPA Evo architecture, the vehicle has demonstrated exceptional structural integrity in crash testing, withstanding both rear and side impacts at speeds of up to 100 km/h while maintaining full passenger compartment integrity. Occupant protection is ensured through an 11-airbag system comprising front dual airbags, front and second-row side airbags, third-row integrated head-thorax airbags, a front center far-side airbag, and roof-mounted curtain airbags with pressure maintenance. The body structure is reinforced with over 77% high-strength steel, contributing to its high crashworthiness. The Lynk & Co 900 also incorporates a comprehensive suite of active and passive safety technologies across all variants, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a 360° surround-view camera system. It further introduces a patented Wheel-Detaching Safety Technology designed to actively detach the wheel in certain frontal collisions to reduce cabin intrusion and redirect impact forces. The model also features an Intelligent Driving Assistance System offering all-scenario coverage, is recognized for having the safest third row in its class with certified 100 km/h side and rear impact protection, and Mother & Child-Level Healthy Car with “Pacifier-Level Safety.” Dimensions & Weight The vehicle measures 5240 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1810 mm in height, with a 3160 mm wheelbase that delivers slightly more interior space than most rivals in its segment. Ground clearance stands at 194 mm unladen, while the curb weight is approximately 2810 kg for the 2.0T AWD Ultra trim. Designed with practicality and comfort in mind, the model offers a spacious 6.16 m² interior floor area and up to 1215 liters of luggage capacity with the second row folded, expandable to 1350 liters in depth for extended cargo needs.
