- Carnegie Mellon Qatar hosts largest-ever Future's Fair, connecting employers with Qatar's brightest talent
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a partner university of Qatar Foundation, hosted its largest-ever Future's Fair, providing an unparalleled opportunity for employers to connect with Qatar's most promising students and recent graduates. A record number of more than 70 leading local and international organizations attended to recruit from CMU-Q's exceptional talent pool. This year’s fair introduced individualized company booths to support networking and on-the-spot interviews. The exclusive event provided employers with a direct pipeline to CMU-Q students and alumni, who are trained to be skilled team players, problem solvers, and creative thinkers. "The sheer scale of this year's Future's Fair is a testament to the incredible demand for our graduates," said Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q. "We provide an education that is rigorous, analytical, and collaborative. For employers in Qatar and the region, this event is the single best opportunity to meet the next generation of leaders and innovators who will drive their organizations forward." The Future’s Fair included representatives from the top employers of CMU-Q students. One third of the employed graduates of the Class of 2024 were hired by one of these seven organizations: QatarEnergy, Qatar Airways, Avey, Qatar Computing Research Institute, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, KPMG and PwC. One of those employers, Qatar Airways, highlighted the real-world impact of hiring CMU-Q graduates. “CMU-Q graduates stand out for their readiness to transition seamlessly into the workplace,” said Arwa Al Mesallam, Talent Acquisition Business Partner at Qatar Airways. “They demonstrate strong research abilities, data-driven decision-making, and a mindset oriented toward innovation. Whether it’s advancing digital transformation, contributing to sustainability goals, or designing new solutions for aviation, they bring both creativity and practicality. Their ability to bridge theory with practice makes them natural contributors to Qatar Airways’ vision of excellence and innovation.” Avey, another major employer of CMU-Q graduates, also spoke to the caliber of the university’s talent. “CMU-Q students have shown that they are some of the highest-caliber talents the country has to offer,” said Moussa Zekak, COO of Avey. “Their commitment to work, honesty, and rigor is unmatched. We have a long-standing relationship with CMU-Q, from our Founder and CEO being a Computer Science professor at the university to a large percentage of our employees being CMU-Q graduates.” For many employers, it’s not just technical skill but also mindset that sets CMU-Q students apart. “CMU-Q students stand out for their technical depth, adaptability, and genuine interest in research and innovation,” said Keivin Isufaj, Software Engineer at Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI). “What impresses us most is their curiosity, passion, and the way they confidently present themselves while staying at the forefront of emerging technologies.” From the student perspective, CMU-Q’s unique academic and extracurricular offerings play a pivotal role in career readiness. “Studying business administration at CMU-Q prepared me for life after graduation through offering countless opportunities both inside and outside the classroom,” said Marwa Darwish, Class of 2024 Business Administration graduate and now Associate Consultant at PwC Middle East. “Academically, we had the opportunity to concentrate and minor in a variety of diverse areas and even potentially create a self-defined minor to explore new fields and we had access to the course offerings at other QF universities through cross-registration. Beyond the classroom, CMU-Q offered experiences that few universities provide, such as the opportunity to participate in a global learning trip or teach a student-designed course. These experiences truly set me and my classmates apart as CMU-Q graduates among other applicants in the job market.” The Future's Fair is one of many ways Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar connects its students with the professional community. The university provides year-round programming and support to help students build professional skills and network with industry leaders. CMU-Q students are educated to the same rigorous, world-class standards as those on the main campus in the United States, and are highly sought after for their analytical approach, collaborative mindset, and practical, hands-on experience. #Carnegie

A note from the Founder Ciao, I’m Priscilla Nangeroni, an Italian woman with a love for beauty that tells a story, and a deep respect for the timeless art of craftsmanship. When I moved to Doha, I brought with me not just my roots, but a vision: to create a space where the elegance of Italy could meet the grace and sophistication of women in Qatar. I was inspired by the way women here express themselves, with strength, refinement, and presence. I knew I wanted to offer something that felt just as intentional. That’s how Amata Couture was born. I don’t design these pieces. I discover them. Each garment is carefully selected from trusted Italian artisans who have spent decades perfecting their craft. Every cut, every thread, every detail speaks of excellence, tradition, and quiet luxury. Amata Couture is my way of building a bridge between two worlds I love. It’s a curated collection for women who value quality, who feel empowered in elegance, and who understand that true style doesn’t chase trends. It carries meaning. - THE STORY OF HAVIA CAVIAR From Family Tradition to a Luxury Experience
In a world where luxury is often created to impress, Havia Caviar was born from something far more intimate: family, tradition, and the joy of sharing. Our story began simply. What started as a delicacy enjoyed around our own table became a cherished ritual - a way to mark gatherings and celebrations with something truly special. Over time, this ritual became part of who we were, a symbol of connection, generosity, and her-itage. It wasn’t long before this passion extended beyond our household. We offered it as gifts to loved ones, family and friends alike. What began as a gesture of thoughtfulness soon became a tradi-tion of generosity. The reactions were always the same: admiration for its quality, freshness, and the sense of celebration it brought. Friends encouraged us, saying, “This is too good not to share with the world.” That encouragement became the spark. What began as a family indulgence evolved into Havia Caviar, a brand built on authenticity, elegance, and the same spirit of sharing that first inspired us. Every tin still carries the essence of those early days: laughter, gatherings, and the joy of ex-periencing something rare together. The Meaning of Our Name Havia’s name is a reflection of heritage. In modern Persian, the word caviar is written as كافيار (kâvyâr). Its roots pass through Ottoman Turkish (havyar), borrowed from Old Persian خاويار (khâvyâr). From this lineage came Havia, a name that honors the timeless origins of caviar while giving it a fresh identity for today’s tables. Designing the Havia Experience At Havia, we believe the experience begins long before the first taste. That is why we collabo-rated with an Argentinean designer to create a tin as refined as the caviar it carries. Every detail was considered - the depth of color, the shape, the finish - all crafted to evoke elegance and anticipation from the moment it is placed in your hands. More than packaging, it is part of the story, a vessel that transforms caviar into a complete sensory experience, where heritage meets design and indulgence becomes unforgettable. Luxury Born from Love Today, Havia Caviar is more than just a delicacy. It is an experience, a bridge between tradition and modern indulgence. Every element, from our artisanal packaging to our curated pairings, reflects the values we began with: authenticity, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to quality. At its heart, Havia Caviar is proof that the most extraordinary luxuries are born not from busi-ness, but from love. And when you open a tin of Havia Caviar, you are not just tasting one of the world’s finest delicacies - you are sharing in Havia’s journey. #HAVIACAVIAR
- From Europe to the Middle East: Ronald van den Broek on The Grand Auto Show in Qatar
After nearly three decades at the forefront of Europe’s automotive events scene, Ronald van den Broek has set his sights firmly on the Middle East. The Dutch event producer — known for creating large-scale car festivals across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany — saw in 2023 the perfect moment to expand his passion-driven concept into a new region. “In Europe we organize between 20 and 30 events each year,” Van den Broek explains. “But the idea of bringing that same energy to the Middle East — where car culture is deeply rooted in lifestyle — really excited me. Dubai was our first step, and it worked beautifully to fill the European winter season with automotive action.” Following the success in Dubai, Qatar soon followed. In 2024, Van den Broek and his team launched AutoMadness Qatar at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). This November, the event evolves into The Grand Auto Show — a true national celebration of cars and innovation in a country that hasn’t hosted such a show for several years. From 20 to 22 November, the QNCC will be transformed into a 30,000 m² automotive playground, combining indoor halls with an outdoor arena for live drift performances. “We want to festivalize the car show experience,” he says. “Not just cars on carpets, but a real experience that mixes entertainment, innovation, and emotion. We’ve proven the concept in Europe — for example at the Brussels Auto Show 2024 with more than 120,000 visitors — and now it’s time to bring that same energy here.” The Grand Auto Show will feature a Car Catwalk, an outdoor drift arena, and a strong presence from both international and Chinese car brands introducing affordable new technologies to the region. But beyond the business of exhibitions and brand showcases, Van den Broek’s passion for cars runs deep. “I’ve been a car lover all my life,” he admits. “From a very young age I was obsessed with BMWs, and my ultimate dream car was the Lamborghini Countach — the poster car on my wall as a kid. That dream came true about ten years ago when I bought my first Countach, a white 5000 S. Since then, several Lamborghinis have passed through my garage.” That personal enthusiasm continues to drive his vision for The Grand Auto Show and its future expansion. “Qatar feels like just the beginning,” he says. “We’re already exploring Riyadh in Saudi Arabia as the next step in this Middle East journey. The appetite for cars, entertainment, and lifestyle here is incredible — it’s a region that truly understands automotive passion.” #RonaldvandenBroek #TheGrandAutoShow
- Embracing the Chef’s Journey by CHEF AIGERIM
Becoming a successful chef is a journey paved with dedication and resilience. Beyond mastering culinary skills, a chef must embody leadership and creativity. Each dish crafted tells a story of passion, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. In this cookbook, I invite you to explore not just recipes, but the artistry and heart behind each creation. It’s my best career choice—a path that began with a deep-seated passion for flavors, textures, and the joy of bringing people together through food. I’ll also share my personal journey, from the early days of experimenting in the kitchen to the moments that shaped my culinary philosophy. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or an aspiring culinary enthusiast, may these pages of cookbook inspire you to embrace your own culinary journey with courage and creativity. A Culinary Awakening In the quiet village in Kazakhstan, nestled amidst rolling hills and fertile farmland, a young girl named Aigerim spent her days surrounded by the sights, sounds, and aromas of her mother’s kitchen. From an early age, she watched with wide-eyed fascination as her family turned simple ingredients into sustaining masterpieces. The sizzle of onions hitting hot oil, the delicate aroma of freshly baked bread, the bubbling of stews, and the gentle simmer of soups filled Aigerim’s senses and sparked curiosity that would shape her future. Born in a middle-class family who worked hard, Aigerim’s parents instilled in her a strong work ethic, humility, and resilience. In their modest household, food was not merely sustenance, but a celebration of family, tradition, and love. These values influenced her approach to cooking from the beginning. As she grew older, she found herself drawn to the kitchen not only for nourishment, but for inspiration. For Aigerim, food was art—a way to express creativity and emotion. She began experimenting with recipes, sometimes guided by her mother’s wisdom, other times daring to add her own flair. Mistakes became her teachers, and small successes fueled her ambition. Her decision to pursue a career in the culinary world was not without challenges. In a society where many still viewed the kitchen as a woman’s domestic responsibility rather than a professional calling, Aigerim’s choice was bold, even unconventional. Yet her unwavering passion for flavors, textures, and the joy of bringing people together through food gave her strength. Resources were limited, but her determination was limitless. She studied cookbooks borrowed from neighbors, observed cooking shows when she could, and spent countless hours honing her craft. Each meal she prepared carried not only the ingredients at hand, but also the patience, discipline, and sacrifice that built her foundation as a chef. Resilience became her constant companion. While others questioned her ambitions, she viewed skepticism as fuel for growth. With every obstacle, she pressed forward. With each new skill mastered, her confidence grew. As Aigerim’s culinary path unfolded, her dreams expanded beyond the borders of her village. She envisioned kitchens filled with innovation, where traditions could be honored and reimagined, where cultures could blend harmoniously on a plate. The possibility of shaping her own future through food became more than a dream—it became a mission. This vision carried her far from the quiet fields of Kazakhstan to bustling cities, world-class kitchens, and international stages. From humble beginnings, she was propelled by a fire that would not be extinguished. Thus began Aigerim’s culinary awakening—a journey filled with flavor, creativity, and the promise of success that awaited just on the horizon. But first things first. #CHEFAIGERIM
- Kristina Kovshun – The Global Hospitality Vision Driving Qatar’s Automotive Event
From luxury hospitality to high-octane automotive showcases, Kristina Kovshun’s career is a masterclass in vision, precision, and reinvention. As Project Manager of The Grand Auto Show 2025, she is shaping one of Qatar’s most anticipated luxury automotive events. We sat down with Kristina to explore her journey—from global hospitality beginnings to steering Qatar’s next big motoring milestone. Foundation and Professional Pivot Q: Your career spans from earning an MBA at the prestigious Les Roches to building a hospitality business in Istanbul. How did that international foundation prepare you for the Qatari market? A: My education at Les Roches Hospitality School gave me a solid foundation in global standards and operational excellence. Living and working in Istanbul for ten years refined that into a hands-on, A-to-Z approach to business. When I arrived in Qatar in 2020, I was ready to transition from traditional hotel operations—like my ten-month Sales & Marketing trainee role at W Doha—into full-scope consulting as a Managing Partner. Today, I specialize in delivering complete business concepts: from developing the idea to launching fully operational cafes, restaurants, retail spaces, and beauty centers. My mission is always to provide a 360° business solution, not just a single piece of the puzzle. Q: After ten years in Istanbul’s hospitality industry, you moved to Qatar in 2020. How did you make the transition from a traditional industry role to becoming an A-to-Z business consultant and Managing Partner? A: Moving to Qatar in February 2020 was a conscious entrepreneurial leap. I quickly realized the local market highly values hands-on expertise that covers every phase of business development. My time in Istanbul had equipped me to manage projects from concept through operations and profitability. I applied that experience to new ventures in Qatar—cafes, restaurants, beauty lounges, and shops—overseeing everything from concept creation and licensing to staffing and marketing. As a Managing Partner, I’ve always focused on creating sustainable businesses that generate measurable results from day one. ⸻ The Supercar Pivot and The Grand Auto Show 2025 Q: Your career has recently taken a fascinating turn toward the automotive world. What inspired this pivot, and how did your personal passion for cars—from your first BMW to your Bentley Continental and now your Mercedes-AMG GTR—shape this new direction? A: Cars have always been one of my greatest passions, alongside sports. Between 2009 and 2025, I’ve personally owned twelve cars. In 2022, when I became the proud owner of a Mercedes-AMG GTR, I became actively involved in the regional Supercar community. That passion evolved into purpose when I joined the organizing team for 402 Automotive Events – Automadness 2024 in Qatar, where I managed F&B and entertainment. The experience allowed me to merge my hospitality expertise with large-scale event management, opening the door to my current role as Project Manager of The Grand Auto Show 2025 , an opportunity offered by Mr. Ronald himself. Q: The Grand Auto Show 2025 is a major project. What are the key milestones you’ve achieved so far? A: Compared to last year, our progress has been exceptional. I’m especially proud to have secured the Patronage of Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani and a major sponsorship partnership with Snoonu. On the commercial side, I successfully finalized significant exhibition contracts, including spaces of 700 m² and 500 m² with leading car dealerships. These accomplishments highlight our vision to create not just an event, but a commercial platform that connects top automotive brands, industry leaders, and luxury lifestyle enthusiasts. It’s a demanding, full-time role that draws on every bit of my project management experience from hospitality openings to large-scale international events. ⸻ Vision and Future Q: Once The Grand Auto Show 2025 concludes, what’s next for you? Do you see your future rooted in the automotive industry? A: Absolutely. The Grand Auto Show 2025 is only the beginning. I’m fully committed to making it the benchmark for automotive events in the region. Beyond that, I aim to expand my portfolio into more high-profile, large-scale events across Qatar and the wider Middle East—projects that combine strategic partnerships, luxury experiences, and community engagement. This field perfectly merges my business expertise with my lifelong passion for performance and innovation. ⸻ Empowering Entrepreneurs Q: What advice would you offer to young entrepreneurs looking to launch a business or project in Qatar today? A: My philosophy is simple: Localize, Formalize, and Digitize. Localize: Understand the market and build strong, trustworthy relationships. Your reputation is your most asset—keep your word, always. Formalize: Set a solid legal and operational foundation through local partnerships, or by registering with QFC or QFZ. Digitize and Innovate: Build your business within the digital ecosystem from day one. Don’t settle for just a basic website—integrate with local digital platforms like Snoonu and embrace technology as a growth tool. And most importantly—be passionate. When your passion drives your purpose, success naturally follows. #KristinaKovshun

- Exclusive Interview with Shaikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani
1. Your Excellency, what does the upcoming car exhibition mean to you personally and to the Qatari community interested in automobiles? My participation in the Grand Car Exhibition 2025 is a unique opportunity to share a part of the heritage connected to the world of automobiles with a broad and diverse audience within Qatar and abroad. By showcasing ten rare and special cars from my personal collection, I aim to enrich the exhibition experience by adding historical depth and cultural context to an event that confidently looks toward the future. My goal is to fuel an interest in classic cars amongst the younger generations, ensuring the continued preservation of treasured vehicles and an appreciation for automotive history and its role in shaping the modern world. These events embody how heritage and innovation can complement each other and opens doors for young people to better understand the past while embracing the future and modern technologies. 2. What is your vision for the future of car exhibitions in the coming years? What role do you see them playing in the region? Exhibitions today have evolved into a standalone industry they are no longer merely events for displaying things. Rather, exhibitions have developed into a major market in their own right, contributing to the stimulation of tourism supporting the economy. Globally connected and mobile audiences have even precipitated the development of a new subcategory of tourism, known as exhibition tourism, wherein enthusiasts and collectors passionately follow events, often traveling far and wide for purchasing, exploration, or documentation. Car exhibitions in Qatar and the wider region – driven by Qatari’s passion for automobiles - are growing in scale and ambition, with several major exhibitions held in the country. The key strength of these exhibitions is their ability to combine modern day innovations with the spirit of heritage, making them relevant to all generations of car lovers. I am pleased to support such initiatives, stemming from my belief that history should always be at the core of every conversation. The automotive industry is evolving at an unprecedented pace. We are currently living in the era of electric vehicles, and the day will come when the technology of today’s vehicles also becomes part of history. However, cars are not just about innovation, design or even technology, they are also a means of connecting people, building communities, and shaping cultures. Amid the rapid pace of innovation and the intensifying competition among global markets – from China and Japan to Europe and the United States – this industry is undergoing radical transformations that contribute to expanding the scope and diversity of car exhibitions, offering the public a more immersive and dynamic experience. 3. We all know about your great passion for cars. When did your love for the automotive world begin, and what inspired you to start collecting and preserving them? My passion for collecting began slowly, from an early stage in my life, I had a particular interest in collecting and preserving cars, especially those belonging to my family, which carry memories and stories tied to different phases of our lives. And as time went on this passion grew and I started collecting friends’ cars, then relatives. Following this I became enthusiastic about taking on a broader dimension that extended across different parts of the world. Thus, it was no longer just a personal hobby, but a journey of exploration, preservation of history, and documentation of the aesthetic, artistic, and human value of automobiles. To me, cars are more than just means of transportation; they symbolize humanity’s triumph over distance, reflect technological progress, and serve as witnesses to societal change over time. This early passion evolved into a lifelong pursuit, and I’m delighted that my collection has grown to include more than 800 classic cars, each representing a unique story. Many of these cars are now displayed in my private museum in Al Samriya (where we showcase over 500 vehicles), as well as in centers, hotels, institutions, and exhibitions across Qatar, allowing people of all ages to discover and appreciate the important role cars have played in shaping our world. 4. Your car collection holds global admiration. How often do you personally take the time to drive one of your classic cars? In truth, I prefer not to drive the cars I collect, as I consider them historically valuable pieces that must be preserved with care. My vision for them goes beyond mere use; they are witnesses to different eras and industrial developments that deserve to be safeguarded for future generations. That’s why we focus on regular maintenance rather than driving. Each car is started every two to three years to ensure the engine and vital components remain in good condition without subjecting them to wear. The most common challenges we face involve tire and brake deterioration, as these parts are particularly affected by prolonged storage. In case of any damage, we replace the part exclusively with its original counterpart to maintain the car’s historical and artistic integrity, preserving it exactly as it was in its time. My goal is for these cars to retain their authenticity and value, to be appreciated as living heritage—not as vehicles for everyday use. Although many of the cars are kept for display, I believe in sharing them through events such as major car exhibitions and at the Car Museum in Al Samriya, which is part of my private museum, among other venues. There, visitors can explore over 50,000 rare and unique items spread across more than 30 exhibition halls. 5. Given the size of your collection, choosing a favorite must be difficult. Do you have a car that has special meaning for you? Each car in my collection has a unique and special story, but the ones closest to my heart are the family cars that carry deep personal memories and formed the foundation of my passion for collecting. There are cars in which me and my father used to go on rides in, and cars that my family and I used to take hunting, others we used to drive to school, and the cars I used to drive in my youth; every car symbolizes a different time in my life. Furthermore, the cars viewed in the museum have not been placed there randomly, each one has played a vital role in the past as some were police or military cars that were used in historical and official missions, and every car has either a person or a memory attached to it. At the Grand Car Exhibition 2025, I will showcase 10 cars representing different eras and functions, including classic cars, convertibles, trucks, and sports cars. Each of these vehicles reflects an important chapter in the history and evolution of the automotive industry. 6. What message would you like to share with young people and the next generation about preserving automotive heritage? Preserving automotive heritage isn’t just about keeping old vehicles, it’s about keeping history alive and vibrant. Cars tell the story of human creativity, innovation, and progress through the ages. I hope young people understand that maintaining these vehicles is a way of protecting a part of our cultural identity and preserving the memories and eras of our parents and grandparents. At the same time, I encourage them to look to the future with a spirit of innovation and responsibility, using lessons from the past to inspire tomorrow’s technologies. When we connect generations through heritage and innovation, the story of cars will continue motivating us and future generations for many years to come. I advise anyone who owns an old car to keep it and look after it, not just for emotional bonds and memory’s sake, but because this car’s value will increase in the future. A car that has previously been worth QAR 15,000 or QAR 20,000 could sell today for millions, the more you take care of it, the more it goes up in value and history is kept alive for future generations to learn from and enjoy. #ShaikhFaisalbinQassimAlThani #ShaikhFaisalbinQassimAlThaniMuseum #Interview
